What is a PASS Plan?

Plan for Achieving Self Support (P.A.S.S.)

1. You must be receiving SSI or be eligible for SSI to do a PASS plan.
2. You must have a source of countable income that reduces your SSI payment.
3. What can you use a PASS plan fund for?
Job Coaching. Transportation. Business costs. Computers. Whatever you need to reach your work goal. (Providing SSA approval)
4. Will I have less monthly income for living expenses if I do a PASS plan?
Not usually. If your countable income (work earnings and/or SSDI payment) exceeds the maximum Federal Benefit Rate ($623 in 2007), you will have less.
